Verbal de-escalation is a key aspect needed for church security teams and anyone in the church who interacts with people. Having the ability to help individuals alter behavior in stressful situations and make controlled decisions is crucial to minimize the threat of any situation. In this session, you'll learn basic skills used to get control of a situation by lowering the agitation level of a potentially disruptive individual. You'll also learn how to keep lines of communication open and maintain control through clear and calm communication.
