I am no expert on the legal ramifications of the reversal of Roe V. Wade. It will take a lot of turns over a long time. The courts ruled, “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Then offered the grounds, “The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision, including … the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.” Then stated, “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.” The anger of the pro-abortion activists is no surprise given the tantrum model of those driven by amoral value systems, but the apparent planned level of hostility and endangerment of their backlash is concerning. While security at churches is elevated, few will feel the brunt of their anger more than faith-based pregnancy centers. Not too different than churches over the…

Those who know me well, know how grateful I am for the parents I had. I could never for a moment complain about the home I grew up in, or the values passed to me from Mom & Dad. I wrote my first “Thank You, Dad” for Father’s Day 2 years ago (Link to June 2020 TAI). This Father’s Day I have new appreciations. Most mornings find my wife and I sitting out front, with our coffee, under the shade of 3 huge Elm trees. My older brother told me Dad planted those trees when he was a teenager (that would have been in the 1930’s). For a young man to have the vision for shade, is an inspiration to me. We moved here during…
Ed Monk grew up shooting firearms of all types from the time he was 5 years old. After going through West Point, he served as a U.S. Army Officer for 20 years retiring as a Lt. Colonel and Battalion Commander in 2007. Since retiring from the military, Ed has continued in Law Enforcement but also picked up a very specific training focus along the way. Ed became very interested in the study of active shooters and how to best stop them some years ago. After retiring, Ed sought out advanced levels of personal professional development by becoming a Rangemaster certified instructor (master level) for handguns, certified by ALERRT as a CRASE instructor and by Response Options (which became ALICE) as an instructor for Solo Officer Response to Active Killers. From his lifetime of momentum of protection, came his laser focus on understanding and countering the active shooter threat. Ed began…
