Very few singular scriptures address all needed actions. Just because I believe and ascribe to that wonderful passage from Romans 12:17-19 (“…as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone…”), doesn’t mean there isn’t a time to stand with our feet planted and voices raised.
I am sick of having immorality shoved down our throats, then us being characterized as “intolerant (x)phobic (x)ist bigots” when we stand against it. I have no tolerance for that kind of threatening idiocy.
There is right and wrong. There is a leader (ruler) of both realms. Christ is the ruler of good and Satan the ruler of evil. Each ruler uses people to accomplish their missions.
There is a continuing assault on scriptural / moral values that is now a depravity crusade. You cannot legislate common sense, but you can sure legislate idiocy. Things like H.R. 5 (the Equality Act) are the evidence.
I am concerned about the prevalent sentiment that has given that kind of idiocy strength to begin with. Cancel culture is bad; forced acceptance of immorality is worse.
American churches and faith-based organizations will be increasingly forced to accept immorality. A good case in point is the story of Bethany Christian Services (a traditionally Christian adoption, foster care & child-placement organization) that has capitulated to the pressures of the depravity crusade.
Think About it
I encourage you to read the March 4, 2021 article from Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. (President of Southern Baptist Seminary) https://albertmohler.com/2021/03/04/pivoting-to-surrender-a-warning-for-all-christians.
I agree with Dr. Mohler’s concluding statement in that article as reprinted here;
The demand to pivot will undoubtedly come—but we will not surrender before the fight. We will see the fight through, all the way to the end. If we have to leave the buildings to the bats, so be it. We will shut it all down before we surrender our commitment to Christ, to the gospel, and to the unfailing truth of God’s Word.
By God’s grace, this is where we must stand. We are about to find out which institutions, schools, churches, and denominations will stand – and who will “pivot” and abandon the faith.
Consider Mohler’s profound statement, We are about to find out which institutions, schools, churches, and denominations will stand – and who will “pivot” and abandon the faith.
Are you ready for the depravity crusade to come through your doors?
You better be. It will be a fight at my house.
